The Digital Showroom for Nigeria's Fastest-Growing Auto Company

Overview

Mikano International is one of Nigeria's largest industrial conglomerates, with operations spanning power generation, steel fabrication, construction, food manufacturing, and marine. In 2018, the group launched its Motors Division to enter vehicle distribution, beginning with an exclusive ZNA partnership and quickly adding Changan Auto and Maxus to its portfolio. As the division grew, it needed a digital presence that could stand on its own, separate from the parent company's corporate site and purpose-built for the automotive market. We designed and built mikanomotors.com as a dedicated platform for the Motors Division: a standalone site covering the full vehicle lineup across passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, and commercial vehicles, with brand pages for each automotive partner, aftersales service information, a test drive booking flow, and a news and events section to support the division's marketing activity. Since launch, Mikano Motors has been named Auto Company of the Year at the 2025 NAJA International Auto Awards, and its Changan CS55 has won both New Car of the Year (2024) and Midsize SUV of the Year (2025), competing against established players including Kia, Toyota, and Chery.

The Challenge

Mikano's existing corporate website (mikano.com) was built to represent the full conglomerate across six divisions. As the Motors Division grew, with its own showrooms, brand partnerships, marketing campaigns, and a rapidly expanding vehicle portfolio, it became clear that a subsection within the parent site could not do the job. The division needed its own platform: one that could showcase individual vehicles, support buyer engagement through test drive bookings, and project the credibility of a serious automotive brand to consumers, fleet buyers, and partners.

Our Approach

  • 1

Scoped a standalone platform architecture tailored to the automotive sector, with dedicated sections for vehicle categories, brand partnerships, aftersales service, and corporate news

  • 2

Designed and built the site with a premium visual identity appropriate for a division marketing Changan, Maxus, and ZNA vehicles to Nigerian consumers and fleet buyers

  • 3

Built a test drive booking flow to convert site visitors into showroom appointments, supporting the division's sales operation across its Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikeja, Abuja, and Port Harcourt locations

  • 4

Delivered a content-managed platform enabling the Mikano Motors marketing team to independently publish vehicle launches, event promotions, and brand updates
