Overview

The Ekiti State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment needed to move beyond manual, fragmented approaches to workforce planning and connect its citizens to real economic opportunity. We partnered with the Ministry to design and build the Ekiti State Labour Market Information System from the ground up: a centralised digital platform serving job seekers, employers, training institutions, career counsellors, and government administrators. The platform includes AI-powered job seeker tools (CV builder, job matching, career planning), real-time labour market analytics dashboards, and role-specific interfaces for each user type. It was formally inaugurated by the State Commissioner for Wealth Creation in May 2025 and opened for public registration in August 2025 at eklmis.ek.gov.ng, giving Ekiti State its first data-driven window into its own labour market.

The Challenge

Ekiti State had no centralised system for understanding or acting on its labour market. Job seekers had limited visibility into opportunities. Employers had no structured way to reach qualified candidates. Policymakers were making workforce decisions without reliable data. And training institutions had no mechanism to align their programmes with actual market demand. The Ministry needed a single platform that could serve all of these groups simultaneously, while being secure, accessible on any device, and built for long-term state ownership.

Our Approach

  • 1

Defined success metrics and designed the full platform architecture across five distinct user types, each with their own portal, dashboard, and workflow requirements

  • 2

Built and launched MVP1 with core job board functionality, application tracking, employer dashboards, and user verification, including 3rd party NIN integration for identity assurance

  • 3

Iterated to MVP2 with an AI-powered tool (CV assistance), real-time labour market analytics dashboards, and training programme management for institutions

  • 4

Conducted stakeholder training and live platform demonstrations with Ministry officials ahead of the public launch, ensuring institutional readiness for ongoing operation
